The REAL Reason R&B Group Soul for Real Got Blacklisted

Some of the best R&B music emerged from the ’90s, including songs by the Dalyrimple brothers, better known as Soul for Real. They took over the Billboard charts with their two hit songs, 1994’s “Candy Rain,” and 1995’s “Every Little Thing I Do.”

Backed by their mentor Heavy D, the brothers experienced a brief moment of success, before it all came crashing down. Here’s what happened to Soul for Real and the real reason they were blacklisted.
